Where Art + History Meet.
The wood in this collection is sourced from various barns + historic buildings in Baker, FL. The little country town sits along the Blackwater River in the Florida Panhandle.
The character rich wood tells stories from the past generations. Although each piece is thoughtfully designed + handcrafted, the patina + texture of this wood cannot be created by anything other than time.
Over 100 years in the making, and now these one-of-a-kind designs are ready to make history in a new home.
Meet The Artist
Lauren Gordon is a self-taught woodworker who began her business adventure on a leap of faith in 2016. Her business was born in Crestview, Florida after she decided to take a different route in life and quit college. Lauren had no idea what God had in store, but knew His plan would be exciting, so she jumped head first into the unknown. After throwing away scholarships and her perfectly planned out life, the Lord quickly began to unlock passions & creativity she never knew she had. Now that her hands were empty, she was able to receive the gift of a business that the Lord was wanting to place in her hands.
Lauren's business originally involved painting canvases & doing calligraphy, but it organically morphed into woodwork as she began to try new things and broaden her skills. Now, Divine Designs is a thriving business celebrated for its original wooden designs that are hand crafted in by Lauren and sold all over the world.
When she's not in her workshop covered in sawdust, Lauren loves being outside in the fresh air finding inspiration among the mountains and trees. Lauren's desire is to express the beauty , love, and creative nature of God through the works of her hands and the through the relationships that are formed through her business.
Divine Designs is committed to creating quality art that can be passed down for many generations. We have a high standard for excellence which is why we don't cut any corners in the creative process. Each work of art is created with heart, precision, attention to detail and with you in mind. If our finished product doesn't pass our simple quality control question, "Would we be proud to hang this in our own home? ", then we head back to the workshop and create a new piece that reflects our hearts & values in a higher degree.
