The character-rich wood used to make this work of art is from a century old barn that once stood in the heart of Baker, Florida. It was in the early 1900’s when a family began to build their barn on Buckward Road. The barn stood strong against the test of time + weather. You would think all of the hurricanes that have swept though the Florida Panhandle would have demolished the barn, but oh no, the severe weather only added more beauty to the wood. The high winds, rainstorms and blazing heat from the Florida sun produced character that no man or machine could ever manufacture.
If you look closely you will find nail holes, chipped paint flakes, saw marks, remarkable textures, and maybe even a few stories that are longing to be told. Stories from the generations that came before us.
After 100 years of collecting history, the barn was deconstructed in 2017. Some of the wood was able to be salvaged, and now it is being brought back to life. Handcrafting art out of aged barn wood gives us the opportunity to honor and preserve history in such a beautiful way.
Our hope is that this art will initiate conversations with family and friends, and that it will also collect many more stories over the years. We desire for our art to be a family heirloom that can be proudly passed down from generation to generation. We truly hope you enjoy this one-of-a-kind work of art.

PLEASE NOTE: The original piece in the picture has already been sold. I am still able to re-create this design, but it will not be exactly the same because I don't have this exact wood anymore. I am able to use barn wood and other old wood, but the shades of color, textures, and unique wood markings will vary.
